It's been a while....

It's been a long time since I had an update - crazy how life goes!

I'm so happy to say that it's been 11 months now with NY :) I can't believe that next month it will be 1 year since we met!!! We definitely had our rough patches tweaking communication and still fine tuning it, but we have worked through it and have supported each other so much. He is there for me in so many ways and it's so nice to have that support. I am learning to be more "go with the flow" instead of crazy planner....although I'm sure he would say that I still am crazy planner - haha! We do bring a good balance to each other :)

I'm sure this next month will fly by and I'm excited to celebrate our 1 year next month!

6 months today!!

It is 6 months today from when I met NY! It's been a great 6 months with some growing pains....lol. I feel like we are getting through the tough conversations now vs. a year into it. We def are getting stronger with all that and are still having a blast with each other. I'm learning his sense of humor more and learning to not be so sensitive and to not take his jokes seriously...hehe.

Since his sister is visiting him from New York right now we went out to dinner 2 nights ago to celebrate our 6 months. He made reservations at this really cute Italian restaurant. Most of the people there were older.....like 60's or older but it reminded me of a place in NY with all the mafia guys....haha. It was delicious and we can't wait to go back to eat there again....but have a few other great Italian places to try first. He got me these flowers too....so cute! 6 red roses for our 6 months and then the 1 white gerber daisy which is my fav flower :) He did good!

His small gift is coming in the mail next week and I can't say what it is since he knows about this blog....hahaha! But I'll post a pic of it when it comes.....it definitely fits him ;)

Such a thoughtful gift...

NY wanted to give me part of my Valentine's Day gift early so I said that if he really wanted to then sure, why not? He was really excited about it and it was so cute to see him like that!

First, let me explain a little about NY. He has always worn this ring on a chain around his neck. The ring looked like a tire tread and it fit him perfectly since he is a car guy. He has worn this for at least a few years and I always played with it when we were cuddling watching a movie :)

So the gift......he got these puzzle pieces engraved with the first letter of each of our names, so he could wear the "T" as his necklace and he said that since they are a little bulky that I should put mine, the "K", on my key chain. I didn't even notice that he had taken his other necklace off and it really surprised me since I knew how much it meant to him. NY said that now he is going to wear the "T" for us. It was so touching to hear him talk about what our relationship means to him....it really shows how special our relationship is and how much I mean to him. He even texted me this morning and said that he loves wearing T around his neck.....awwww! Yes, I'm a softie but it means the world to me!!

Now that it's finally February I'm here to say Happy New Year!! I've started off this new year with lagging with my posts....lol. Things are still going really well with NY....it will be 5 months this week!! Crazy how time has flown by...but life seems to do that anyways ;)

Anyways, I saw this photo and thought it was perfect for my blog. I have been through a lot of dating stuff and life stuff in general....I feel that we all have some sort of baggage that has shaped us to who we are today. When I read this it really touched me and made me think of NY....that he is always there for me, trying and learning to deal with my "baggage" but that he is here to do whatever it takes :)
